Two Rivers Resource Conservation & Development Area covers a multi-county area in west central Illinois that includes Adams, Brown, Calhoun, Pike and Schuyler Counties. Two Rivers RC&D is a nonprofit on profit 501c3 corporation. A concerted effort is made to identify the areas' problems and then provide the leadership and framework for carrying out solutions to these problems. Program objectives focus on:
We serve a diverse local and regional constituency and support local networking, coalition building and partnership buildings. Two Rivers RC&D currently operates the Access Illinois Outdoors program which promotes outdoor based recreation and tourism. We helped create and support a 940-acre environmental education center in Calhoun County. We are the fiscal sponsor of the Pike County Chamber & Economic Development Corporation providing services for our local businesses that include business plans, retention services and financing options. We sponsor the Quail & Upland Management Association which promotes the establishment, restoration and maintenance of natural upland habitats for quail and other wildlife species. We are a sponsor of Gardner Camp, which promotes outdoor recreational and educational activities with its primary emphasis on youth programs.
We are excited to partner with WCILgives to raise money for our deer donation program which provides a mechanism whereby hunters can donate their deer and we pay all the processing costs and deliver the meat to local food pantries.
The mission of Two Rivers RC&D, Inc., is to bring about economic improvement within our RC&D local region, provide for environmental protection, and to work with others to resolve the social concerns of the area.
