Class of 2014! It’s hard to believe that it has been over a decade since you crossed the stage at Flinn Stadium—graduates filled with pride and ready to shape the future as Quincy Blue Devils. Today, you have the opportunity to come together once again—not just to reconnect, but to create a lasting legacy for the next generation of Blue Devils.
Your class can raise $10,000 to establish a permanent endowed fund—your Class Circle—dedicated to supporting Quincy Public Schools students for generations to come. This fund will provide vital resources like technology access, mental health services, arts and music programs, athletics, and career and college readiness.
Your Class Circle has not yet been started, but it begins with you. Every gift, no matter the size, lays the foundation for long-term impact—and helps ensure that future Blue Devils have the same opportunities that helped shape your own journey.
Your senior year was full of moments that still bring smiles and spark memories. Whether performing on the stage, excelling in athletics, leading student organizations, or supporting one another through milestones and challenges, the Class of 2014 brought spirit, resilience, and creativity to QHS.
The world you graduated into was equally unforgettable. In April, the world was gripped by the search for missing Malaysian Airlines Flight 370. In August, protests in Ferguson, Missouri following the death of Michael Brown sparked a national conversation about race and justice. In October, the first Ebola case diagnosed in the U.S. led to nationwide public health awareness. And by year’s end, Time Magazine had named the “Ebola Fighters” as their Person of the Year.
Pop culture kept us talking. Frozen mania continued into 2014, and Guardians of the Galaxy became a surprise box office hit. Taylor Swift dropped her chart-topping album 1989, and Pharrell’s “Happy” had everyone singing along. Meanwhile, Ellen DeGeneres’ Oscar selfie broke Twitter records, and the Ice Bucket Challenge raised millions and flooded your feeds.
In sports, the Seattle Seahawks won their first Super Bowl in dominant fashion. The San Antonio Spurs claimed the NBA title, and the San Francisco Giants won their third World Series in five years. Globally, Germany won the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, where a stunning 7–1 victory over the host country became one of the most talked-about matches in soccer history.
Technology continued to evolve fast. Apple introduced the iPhone 6, Snapchat Stories changed how we shared our lives, and “binge-watching” officially entered our vocabularies thanks to Netflix hits like Orange Is the New Black.
By supporting your Class Circle, you celebrate the opportunities and memories that shaped your QHS journey. Let’s show that the Class of 2014 remains united, generous, and committed to empowering the next generation of Blue Devils.
