our time at Quincy High was set against a backdrop of global transformation. In 1991, the Cold War ended with the dissolution of the Soviet Union, ushering in a new era of international relations. That same year, the U.S. led Operation Desert Storm, and the Civil Rights Act of 1991 reinforced national commitments to equality and justice.

Culturally, 1991 was a landmark year. Nirvana’s “Nevermind” launched the grunge movement and reshaped popular music. On screen, Terminator 2: Judgment Day thrilled audiences, and Whitney Houston’s powerful performance of the national anthem at Super Bowl XXV became an iconic moment of unity and pride.
