Class of 1965! It has been 60 years since the Class of 1965 graduated from Quincy High School. We stepped out into a world on the move—defined by bold change, cultural milestones, and a spirit of optimism that helped shape our generation.
That same year, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. led the historic march from Selma to Montgomery, inspiring the passage of the Voting Rights Act. Astronaut Ed White became the first American to walk in space. The Beatles performed before a record-breaking crowd at Shea Stadium, changing music history. We were living in a time of transformation—and making our own memories right here at Quincy High.
Now, as we prepare to celebrate our 60th reunion, we have the opportunity to come together once more—this time, to create a lasting legacy through the Class Circles Challenge.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to establish a permanent endowed fund—the Class of 1965 Circle—that will support Quincy Public Schools students for generations to come. This fund will provide vital resources for technology, mental health, arts and music education, athletics, and college and career readiness.
This effort has just begun, but we’re proud to share that one generous classmate has already made the first gift. Now it’s time for the rest of us to join in. Every donation—large or small—moves us closer to our goal and strengthens the legacy we leave behind. Together, we can build a fund that ensures today’s students have the same opportunities that helped us succeed.
This is also a chance to reconnect. Reach out to your classmates—teammates, friends, study partners, and lifelong friends—and invite them to join this meaningful effort. Share memories. Celebrate milestones. And help spread the word.
Our time at Quincy High helped shape who we are. Now we have the opportunity to shape what’s next—for students, families, and the entire QPS community.
Let’s honor the past and invest in the future. Let’s complete the Class of 1965 Circle—together.
