Every child deserves to be loved.

St. James Lutheran School in Quincy, Illinois shares the love of Jesus with children and families through wholesome traditional classroom education, before and after school care, and whole-family events.

Learning and growing together in a Christ-centered environment enables children to grow in faith, service to others, and confidence to make healthy life choices.

With your financial gift we will be able to provide services for students' individual needs  - both those children who need more support and those who need advanced learning opportunities. We will do this through additional staffing and extended extra-curricular activities/lessons.

Here is an example of how St. James has impacted my family:

When our oldest child first came to St. James in second grade, he was nervous about being the new kid and adjusting to an unfamiliar school. Right away, we were reassured that everyone had his best interests in mind. His teacher was able to meet his unique needs and help him feel comfortable in the classroom. His classmates were welcoming and friendly towards him. The staff members were ready to make accommodations for him and help him feel comfortable. The next school year, he was filled with confidence as he returned to school, this time with two younger siblings in tow. It took some adjustment for our two kindergarteners to get used to attending a full-day of school, but their teacher made the learning environment fun and inviting to them. As we prepare for another child of ours to begin school for the first time at St. James, we are confident that we are sending our kids to a school that truly cares about them. Our number one desire in a school is that our children would be educated in the Lutheran faith. We know that they aren’t just learning about God in religion classes but that they are receiving Christian instruction throughout all the subjects. We love seeing our children grow in their faith, sing hymns they have learned, recite prayers and creeds, memorize bible verses, and treat others with Christian love and kindness. St. James is more than just a school; it is a community of believers who care not just about the academic growth of children but their spiritual growth as well.
