Schuyler County Humane Society

A nonprofit organization

$1,800 raised by 32 donors

Since 2002, the Schuyler County Humane Society (SCHS) has proudly served as an all-volunteer organization dedicated to the welfare of companion animals in need. We’re a fully independent group, supported solely by our community of donors, with a simple mission: to care for and find loving homes for homeless animals throughout the Schuyler County, Illinois, area. We take in strays, owner surrenders, and those relinquished by local animal control—giving each one the veterinary care they need before they’re ready for adoption.

Our no-kill shelter is always full of lovable, furry faces—and they sure know how to run up a vet bill! From vaccinations and spay/neuter procedures to regular checkups, medications, and unexpected emergencies (think broken bones, eye injuries, and heart issues), the medical costs add up quickly. In fact, we spent more than $33,000 on just veterinary care and medicine last year—a 38% jump from 2023.

We’re reaching out for a little help. No need for grand gestures—even a small donation makes a big difference. Can’t donate? Sharing this message helps too. Every dollar, every share, brings us closer to keeping more tails wagging and whiskers wiggling. Thank you for your support and for being a part of our community, the animals greatly appreciate it!
