The Pittsfield Community Center (PCC) began in 1948 when the Strauss family donated their home to the City of Pittsfield as a place to create and foster community relationships. From the beginning, the PCC was intended to belong to the citizens of Pittsfield, and that vision still guides the PCC Board of Directors today. As our founding President, M.D. King, said at the dedication of the building, "We want this to be your Community Center and hope you will use it accordingly."
The PCC includes a commercial kitchen and a flexible gathering space which is used by residents, organizations and families for a variety of events throughout the year. When you support the Center, you are investing in community, connection, and continuity.
As many historical buildings age, updates and improvements are necessary for the ongoing use and safety of all who utilize the historical buildings, and the PCC is not immune to this aging process. Recent interior improvements have been completed, and now the second phase of the upgrade project is required to continue the ongoing care of this historical building. The second phase of the upgrade project involves urgent repairs and upgrades of the exterior, which include new columns, porch railings, porch roof and flooring, parking lot improvements and balcony repairs.
This is your Community Center. With your help, we can make sure the PCC continues to be a place where Pittsfield and the surrounding communities come together -- now and well into the future.
Pittsfield Community Center is more than just a venue; it's the heartbeat of our community. We provide a vibrant, versatile space where connections are made, ideas flourish, and memories are created.
