Every day, good food is thrown away—while our neighbors go hungry.
At Horizons Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry, we refuse to accept that waste and want should exist side by side. Our Food Rescue Initiative intercepts that broken cycle, redirecting fresh, nutritious food from local stores and farms—away from landfills and onto tables.
This rescued food becomes more than just a meal. It becomes hope. It becomes dignity. It becomes life.
In our kitchen, staff and volunteers turn yesterday’s unsold produce into today’s warm, healing meal. In our pantry, a rescued loaf of bread becomes tomorrow’s sandwich in a child’s lunchbox. And for people who’ve hit rock bottom, a hot plate and a warm welcome are sometimes the first signs that they haven’t been forgotten.
One woman once told us,
“I knew if the lights were on at Horizons, I’d find hope.”
That’s what your gift turns on—the lights of hope for someone who’s lost everything.
But rescued food can’t rescue people on its own. It takes:
And it takes you.
It costs just $25 to feed someone for an entire week through our food rescue mission. One week of life-changing meals.
Just $25 provides weekend meals for two Quincy Public Schools students through our Kidzpacks program, ensuring they have nourishing food when school cafeterias are closed. A weekend of reassurance, knowing they won't go hungry while school is out.
Every dollar you give helps us keep the lights on. The doors open. The meals coming.
When you support Horizons, you're not just stopping waste—you're starting something beautiful. You're delivering nourishment, compassion, and second chances.
Give today. Feed someone all week. Feed a child on the weekend. Be the reason they find hope when the lights are on.
Motivated by the love of Jesus Christ, our mission is to feed the poor and hungry in our community- mind, body & soul.
