$5,000 Goal

The Historical Society of Quincy & Adams County is dedicated to preserving, sharing, and bringing to life the stories that shaped our community. Since 1896, we have served as stewards of local history by collecting and protecting artifacts, documents, and photographs that span more than 200 years.

Through our work, we care for and operate key historic sites, including the History Museum on the Square, the John Wood Mansion, and our 1835 Log Cabin, welcoming visitors year-round to experience Quincy’s rich past firsthand.

But we do more than preserve history. We make it accessible. Each year we:

  • Provide hands-on educational programs for students
  • Host lectures, tours, and community events
  • Assist researchers and families exploring local history
  • Maintain and grow a collection of over 20,000 artifacts

Our mission is simple: to connect people to the stories of the past in meaningful ways that enrich our community today.

Your support helps us preserve these stories, care for historic landmarks, and inspire the next generation through education and engagement.
