Blessed Sacrament Church

Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, located at 1119 South Seventh Street in Quincy, Illinois, has a rich history rooted in faith and community. The parish was established in 1867, with the first Mass celebrated on December 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Tragically, the original church was destroyed by fire in 1891, but the resilient congregation rebuilt, and by 1892, a new church stood in its place. 

In 2006, a significant reorganization occurred within the local Catholic community. Three parishes—St. Mary, St. Boniface, and All Saints (formerly St. John)—merged to form the current Blessed Sacrament Parish. This unification brought together diverse traditions and histories, enriching the parish's cultural and spiritual fabric.

The parish is also associated with Blessed Sacrament Catholic School, which serves students from PreK through 8th grade. The school emphasizes a Christ-centered environment, focusing on academic excellence and community service. 

Today, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church continues to be a beacon of faith, community, and education in Quincy, honoring its rich heritage while looking forward to a vibrant future.
